An abandoned airport; untouched streets; a road cyclist’s dream: BER airport, on the outskirts of Berlin, has been under construction for 13 years and doesn’t look set to open anytime soon. It’s been a huge waste of public money and resources, and many people question whether it even exists.
![But, amazingly, it does exist and for Berlin’s cyclists it’s a haven of smooth, traffic-free roads.
